(a) The 1967-70 mileage for WD 193 Shropshire was reported in SVR News cumulative mileage tables in both 1980[1] and 2004[2]. However both the Stock Book and SVR News confirm that the locomotive did not arrive on the SVR until August 1971.[3][4]

Sources of information and notes edit
Mileage tables have appeared in SVR News from time to time, some covering a single year, others spanning a number of years. The information endeavours to be complete and accurate, but is subject to a number of possible issues:
- For some years, no information has ever been published in SVR News.
- Some years have been covered in more than one table, occasionally with different mileage figures being shown (or omitted) for certain locomotives. Where that has happened, the information above has been prepared using a 'best guess' as to which was the correct figure.
- Tables have adopted different methods of recording mileages over time. These include whether locomotives' mileage at other railways and on the main line was included or not, whether a locomotive such as 60009 was treated as a home locomotive or a visitor in a particular year and therefore shown or not shown, whether short term visitors such as gala guests were included or not, and so on.
