80329 in service and preservation
Post Office Sorting Van (POS) 80329 was built at York in 1968 to diagram number 728 of lot 30779.[1] It was one of two acquired in spring 2000 from BR's Old Oak Common, London. Both were acquired for use on Santa duties at Arley, taking the place of a 'Snake' and 'Siphon' which required a major overhaul.[2]
It is in Post Office Maroon livery, and is normally stored at Kidderminster, being used as Santa's Grotto at Arley during December. It is owned by SVR(H).
