On August 16 in SVRSevern Valley Railway history.- 1953 Ex-LMSLondon Midland & Scottish Railway 'Crab' 42897 hauled a through excursion from Burton-on-Trent and Walsall to Bewdley and Stourport.[1]
- 1970 Work began to reinstate the locomotive watering facilities at Bridgnorth which had been removed by BRBritish Rail or British Railways after closure.[2]
- 1979 LNWRLondon & North Western Railway 3020 Cornwall arrived at the SVRSevern Valley Railway on loan from the National Railway Museum, having travelled from Crewe to Bewdley behind ex-works Brush Type 4The British Railways classification for diesel locomotives of 2000 bhp to 2999 bhp 47536.[3]
