- 1982 The SVR's second 30-ton steam crane, RS1087 arrived on the SVR from Haworth on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway.[1]
- 1993 During a visit to the Bluebell Railway, the work of the 'Friends of Kingscote Station' inspired the formation of the Friends of Kidderminster Town Station[2]
- 2003 Hugh McQuade was appointed Director of the then-SVR Rolling Stock Trust
