On July 7 in SVRSevern Valley Railway history.

  • 1892 Bridgnorth Castle Hill Railway opened, linking the High Town and Low Town.
  • 1985 The 'Great Western Limited' main line rail tour from Bristol to Plymouth with 4930 Hagley Hall and pilot 5051 Drysllwyn Castle stalled on the notorious Dainton Bank and was unable to restart (the Castle's sanders were not working). The tour received diesel assistance to Totnes where it terminated.[1]
  • 1985 The newly installed water column at Kidderminster was used for the first time.[1]
  • 1989 Newly restored LNERLondon & North Eastern Railway 3442 The Great Marquess departed from Bridgnorth for a fortnight at Fort William in Scotland[2].
  • 1990 The SVR Junior Club was launched.[3]
