On July 6 in SVR history.
- 1889 About 350 members of the Union of Teachers and Students of the Birmingham and Midland Institute had an excursion to Bridgnorth by special train from Birmingham (Snow Hill).[1]
- 1965 A meeting took place at the Coopers Arms in Kidderminster which resulted in the formation of the Severn Valley Railway Society, the origin of the present day SVR.[2]
- 1986 A celebration was held to mark the SVR's 'coming of age. 'SVR 21' was attended by many of the original members of the SVRA, and the day included a visit to the Coopers Arms[3].
- 2025: The SVR staged a 2-day Railway 200: Trains through the Ages event on 5 and 6 July. Guest locomotive 46115 Scots Guardsman made a rare appearance on a heritage railway, while the Railway 200 Exhibition train 'Inspiration' and the HydroFLEX prototype bi-mode multiple unit appeared as static exhibits at Kidderminster. Narrow gauge steam locomotives Chaloner and Holy War gave footplate rides on a short length of track in the Engine House car park.
