Breakdown Tool Van 141 was built at Swindon in 1908. In service these 6-wheel Tool Vans carried a large selection of equipment and lifting tackle, and were paired with Riding/Dormitory Vans such as GWR89. They were vacuum-braked to permit fast running to the scene of accidents and breakdowns on the railway.

141 arrived on the SVRSevern Valley Railway from Newton Abbot on 8 February 1971.[2] It is photographed in March 2015 situated in Bewdley Down Yard.

The Great Western (SVR) Association reported at their 2023 AGM that they had assumed ownership of 141, previously with S. E. Sim[2], a member of the 4566 Group. Once cleared of spares for 4566 and 5164, the Association intended to use it for storage of their own spares, freeing up space in GWR 2426 Toplight Full Third to aid its ongoing restoration[3].
