101961 was built at Swindon in 1923 to Diagram V14, Lot 896. It is a ‘Mink A’ 4-wheeled ventilated covered van with a 12 ton capacity. It also carried the Departmental number DW 150066.

101961 arrived on the SVR from Shrewsbury on 6 December 1971. It was used as a stores van at Bewdley for the next 25 years before restoration began in 1996. As of August 2020 it is undergoing work at Bewdley Goods Shed by the Wagon Department including the fitting of new doors and a new roof canvas. It is owned by The GWR 813 Preservation Fund.
