Goods Wagons

101961 was built at Swindon in 1923 to Diagram V14, Lot 896. It is a ‘MinkGWR telegraphic code signifying a covered goods van A’ 4-wheeled ventilated covered van with a 12 ton capacity.[1] It also carried the DepartmentalRolling stock used for the railway’s own functions (engineering etc.) rather than for general passenger or goods traffic. number DW 150066.

101961 arrived on the SVRSevern Valley RailwaySVRA:Severn Valley Railway AssociationSVRS:Severn Valley Railway Society from Shrewsbury on 6 December 1971. It was used as a stores van at Bewdley for the next 25 years before restoration began in 1996.[2] As of May 2019 it is undergoing work at Bewdley Goods Shed by the Wagon Department including the fitting of new doors and a new roof canvas. It is owned by The GWR 813 Preservation Fund.
