On September 19 in SVR history.

• 1965 A Stephenson Locomotive Society railtour from Snow Hill via Worcester and Bewdley visited Alveley Sidings, helping to publicise the fledgling Severn Valley Railway Society.
• 1978 The railway was inspected by the Department of Transport's Inspecting Officer, Maj. Olver.
• 1986 GWR 2424 Fruit Van arrived on the SVR from Reading.
• 1996 BR Class 50 50035 Ark Royal moved by road to the SVR from St Leonards where initial restoration work and start-up was carried out.
• 2021: Sunday of the Autumn Steam Gala featured guest GWR 0-6-0PT 9466. The second guest, GWR 4953 Pitchford Hall was declared a failure and did not work.

Severn Valley Railway

Major Peter M. Olver of the Royal Engineers served with the DoT's Railway Inspectorate between 1965 and 1989. He regularly carried out the annual inspections and approved new works on the SVR.
