- 1959 Railway photographer R.J. Sellick filmed an ex-GWR Prairie working a southbound service at Arley.
- 1980: A Western Diesel Weekend was held on 3-4 October, with both D1062 and D1013 in use in addition to the two regular steam services.
- 2007 HRH The Duke of Gloucester visited the SVR. His visit included a presentation on progress in repairing the 2007 Storm Damage[1].
- 2024: Thursday of the Autumn Diesel Bash which included Class 25, 53 and 43 HST guests.
- 2025: Friday of the 4-day Autumn Diesel Bash which took the theme "65 Years of Class 37", with 9 visiting 'Growlers' joining SVR-based 37263 for the event.
