  • 1856 Morton Peto addressed a public meeting at Bridgnorth to rally support for construction of the Severn Valley Railway.
  • 1963 The 'Beeching Report' was published. BR had already proposed the closure of the Severn Valley Railway nine months earlier.
  • 1967: On Easter Bank Holiday Monday the SVR's newly-arrived first locomotive, 3205 with two coaches gave rides at Bridgnorth as far as Oldbury Viaduct for a third day.
  • 1986 08471 arrived on the SVR from Swindon.
