- 1968 After being stored out of use for two months at Lostock Hall, future SVR resident Ivatt Mogul 43106 was officially withdrawn from service by BR.[1]
- 1967: Railcar 22 moved under its own power for the first time, although only on one engine.[2]
- 1979: Saturday of the Great Western Weekend' steam gala.
- 2018 50049 Defiance hauled the Mazey Day Cornishman between Worcester and Penzance and return, with classmate 50007 Hercules. The pair ran as numbers 50006/11.
