Carriage type BGP (Brake Gangwayed Pigeon) is a sub-class of carriage type BG. It designates a carriage with Guard's compartment, and a storage area intended for transporting pigeons. The carriage has no passenger accommodation, although the gangway allows passengers to pass through it.

LNERLondon & North Eastern Railway BGP 4236 was resident on the SVRSevern Valley Railway between 1975 and 1983, and has reportedly been scrapped since leaving the SVRSevern Valley Railway. LNERLondon & North Eastern Railway BGP 70759 has now been converted to an LNERLondon & North Eastern Railway Brake Third (BTK) and renumbered 24506.
