Just a sense check, was Brian Whithurst the outgoing Treasurer of the *WLAWestern Locomotive Association Ltd.* in 2006? I've been a WLAWestern Locomotive Association Ltd. member since c. 1975 and don't recall him, and though stranger things have happened it seems incongruous for the WLAWestern Locomotive Association Ltd. Good spot, thanks. Also, although the printed letter in 2006 was signed 'Brian Whithurst' I believe his name is actually 'Whitehurst'. Dodd (1987) states that when the original enthusiasts' organisation became the 6000 LA, Brian Whitehurst handed over to Bernard Staite as Secretary. Brian says in the letter in SVRSevern Valley Railway news that "As I still 'do a bit' in Kidderminster Carriage works..."; there are several mentions in other issues of SVRSevern Valley Railway News around that time of a Brian Whitehurst in C&WCarriage & Wagon.
