The 60ft length allowed standard length rails to be carried. It ==Preservation==996730 arrived on the SVR in on 7 November 1990from Willsden. It was one of a number of wagons that were originally intended for the Southall Steam Centre but which came to the SVR instead during that year, and is used owned by J.J. Smith.<ref name=SB9/> It was immediately put to use by the PW department for carrying rails and sleepers.<ref>SVR News 98</ref> The photograph shows the wagon carring rails in a engineering train at Bewdley in 2015.
