- 1968: In addition to the "Members' day ticket" type operations, a number of private parties were also carried on the SVR prior to opening. The 'Gilt Edge Carpet Special' with 46443 on 21 September was one such[1].
- 1985 D1062 Western Courier appeared at Landore Open Day.[2] 50007 also attended.[3]
- 1991 LMS 8233 hauled the Welsh Marches Express.[4]
- 2006 It was reported that Colin Binch was no longer employed as SVR General Manager.[5]
- 2016 The 'Pacific Power' event began, featuring the first meeting of 60103 Flying Scotsman and 60163 Tornado. On the 'VIP Flying Scotsman Charity Day', Flying Scotsman hauled three round trips for around 1,200 supporters of the SVR Charitable Trust.
- 2024: Saturday of the Autumn Steam Gala which featured guest locomotives GWR 2999 Lady of Legend, LMS 44932, LMS 45596 Bahamas and 51456 [LMS 11456].
- 2025: Sunday of the Autumn Steam Gala, featuring guest locomotives SR 35006 Peninsular & Oriental S N Co, LMS 47298, 73082 Camelot and NCB No 49.
