On January 26 in SVR history.
- 1825 Henry Orlando Bridgeman was born. He was the Resident Engineer responsible for day-to-day construction work on the Severn Valley Railway and laid the foundation stone of Victoria Bridge in 1859.[1]
- 1963 R J Sellick took photographs of now-preserved BR Riddles 4MT 80072 and other images on a snowy Severn Valley Branch. GWR Pannier 3619 was also in service.
- 1985 The SVR was presented with the ARPS Award for the re-opening of Kidderminster Town station. The ceremony took place at the NRM at York[2].
