Talk:Foot crossing off Northwood Lane
I'm a bit confused by the reference to a footbridge at this crossing. There was a footbridge nearer Bewdley which connected Summer Hill to Northwood lane, which is visible on both the 1903 and 1927 maps next to the field numbered 259. The Northwood lane crossing is where the footpath crosses the south side of field 260 and then turns northwards up the side of field 234 east of the line. I can't see a footbridge there on the earlier map - there isn't much evidence of the crossing either come to that. Am I missing something? --Robin (talk) 22:41, 9 April 2022 (UTC)
- Sorry. My mistake. All this time I've thought they were at the same location, when I should have looked at the map properly. Edit undone. --Graham Phillips 110 (talk) 07:43, 10 April 2022 (UTC)
The Footpath App shows two crossings between Bewdley and Northwood Lane Halt. One from Northwood Lane crosses the railway and joins a few paths off Grey Green Lane, Wribbenhall. A little further north is a longer second path shown that joins Northwood Lane and Crundalls Lane (no OSOrdnance Survey refs - sorry). Only one is shown on the Wiki--Patrick Hearn (talk) 16:23, 21 February 2024 (UTC)
- I don't have that App, but I've had a look on the Worcestershire CC Public Rights Of Way map. The crossing on this page is the path between PRoW 542(B) and 550(C) which leads to Grey Green Lane. PRoW 547(C), the next one north, goes to Crundalls but it goes under the Accommodation bridge off Northwood Lane rather than over a crossing. I'll update both articles to include the relevant PRoW details. Hope that makes sense. --Robin (talk) 14:11, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
- Excellent, thank you--Patrick Hearn (talk) 17:52, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
