- 1971 46521 was hauled from Barry to Bewdley by a BR Type 4 diesel.[1]
- 1977 Viscount Cobham, the first President of SVR(H), died.[2]
- 1977 Signalling at Bewdley was fully commissoned, ready for an inspection to allow passenger working between Bewdley and Foley Park.[3]
- 1997 The Revd. Wilbery Awdry, creator of the 'Thomas' books, died. He had been an SVR Member since 1980[4].
- 2008 An inaugural special hauled by 7812 Erlsetoke Manor ran to mark the reopening of the SVR following the 2007 storm damage. The Engine House also opened for the first time[5].
