The Manchester Rail Travel Society owns [[LMS Jinty 47383]].
The ==History==A group of enthusiasts formed the Manchester Rail Travel Society (MRTS) in 1966 with the intention of acquiring a 'Jinty', the LMS standard shunting tank locomotive. To raise funds, the MRTS promoted a number of 'end of steam' railtours such as the 'Lancs & Yorks Rambler / The Mancunian' on 25th November 1967 <ref>[http://www.sixbellsjunction.co.uk/60s/671125_1.html www.sixbellsjunction.co.uk]</ref> rail tours, and also co-promoted others four rail tours in conjunction with the emergent Severn Valley Railway Society, such as the 'Farewell to B.R. Steam' on 28th July 1968 <refname = "SB9">[http://www.sixbellsjunction.co.uk/60s/680728ct.html www.sixbellsjunction.co.uk]SVR Stock Book 9th Edition</ref> and 'North West Tour' on 27th April Two of the joint rail tours in 1968 were hauled by [[LMS Stanier 8F 48773]], then still a BR-owned locomotive.<ref>[http://www.sixbellsjunction.co.uk/60s/680427sv.html www.sixbellsjunction.co.uk]SVR News 11</ref>
As a result of this relationship, 47383 became the 5th locomotive to join the SVR, arriving by road from Blackwell A Winning Colliery in May 1968 some two years before the official opening.<ref name = "SB9"/>
