- 1889 About 350 members of the Union of Teachers and Students of the Birmingham and Midland Institute had an excursion to Bridgnorth by special train from Birmingham (Snow Hill).[1]
- 1965 A meeting took place at the Coopers Arms in Kidderminster which resulted in the formation of the Severn Valley Railway Society, the origin of the present day SVRSevern Valley Railway.[2]
- 1986 A celebration was held to mark the SVRSevern Valley Railway's 'coming of age. 'SVRSevern Valley Railway 21' was attended by many of the original members of the SVRA, and the day included a visit to the Coopers Arms[3].
