- 1972 A large working party began de-scaling Bridgnorth Station Footbridge ready for repainting.
- 1973 The remaining portion of the ex-Llangollen water tank was unloaded at Highley. The first part had arrived in December of the previous year.
- 1973 The SVR took over possession of the NRM's GWR Buffet Car 9631 at Clapham Museum. It was resident on the SVR on loan between 1973 and 1992.
