223 bytes added, 20:57, 31 March 2017
Use as workshop
2426 was purchased in 1972 for volunteer dormitory accommodation, and was used for that purpose at Hampton Loade until mid 2016. It was then moved into storage at Kidderminster, with its place at Hampton Loade taken by GWR Riding Van 55.
2426 is the oldest bogie coach on the SVR, and is owned by The Great Western (SVR) Association. The Association's long term aim is to restore it to its original condition. 2017 2426 has been moved to spent a few weeks in the siding on Sandbourne Viaduct at Bewdleybefore moving into the down yard for conservation work. For a few years it will become the LNER Carriage Group's workshop, replacing 5043 which is to be rebuilt as a fully wheelchair accessible saloon and buffet car.
