It was saved for preservation in August 1982, arriving on the Severn Valley Railway direct from Avonmouth Docks.[1]. It was repainted into GWRGreat Western Railway livery soon after arrival. Full restoration was carried out in 2003, which included a complete renewal of all body timbers. The curb rail had been removed during PBA ownership and this was reinstated, together with the vacuum brakes.[2] However some further work was required in June 2008 to replace several second-hand planks used in the restoration which had suffered from rot. A further repaint was also carried out and the missing sheet support rail was also reinstated.[3]
