Carriage type BGP (Brake Gangwayed Pigeon) is a sub-class of carriage type BG. It designates a carriage with Guard's compartment, and a storage area intended for transporting pigeons. The carriage has no passenger accommodation, although the gangway allows passengers to pass through it.

LNER BGP 4236 was resident on the SVR between 1975 and 1983, and has reportedly been scrapped since leaving the SVR. LNER BGP 70759 has now been converted to an LNER Brake Third ([[:Category:Carriage Type BTK|BTK]]) and renumbered 24506.
