The West Midlands Sugar Co (later British Sugar Corporation) factory at the site of the sugar beet factory at [[Foley Park sidings]] covered 65 acres, and the contractors, [[Thomas Vale & Sons‎ | T. Vale & Co.]], commenced work in February 1925. At the same time, the GWR put in a temporary siding to convey plant and materials directly to site. By July of that year, permanent siding accommodation for about 118 wagons had been built and opened for traffic.<ref>Great Western Railway Magazine, September 1926</ref>
