Temporary siding for construction of the Sugar Beet Factory at Foley Park
The West Midlands Sugar Co (later British Sugar Corporation) factory at the site of Foley Park sidings covered 65 acres, and the contractors, T. Vale & Co., commenced work in February 1925. At the same time, the GWRGreat Western Railway put in a temporary siding to convey plant and materials directly to site. By July of that year, permanent siding accommodation for about 118 wagons had been built and opened for traffic.
