Interesting to know where else around the country BRBritish Rail or British Railways procedures called for a goods train to be divided so a Signalman could get past it, and how often it was done in practice. Perhaps they should try it on the SVRSevern Valley RailwaySVRA:Severn Valley Railway AssociationSVRS:Severn Valley Railway Society one day!

Off the top of my head, I can't think of any other BRBritish Rail or British Railways instruction like this, but maybe they did exist. Still, it seems very considerate of them... There is one case where a similar-ish rule exists on the SVRSevern Valley RailwaySVRA:Severn Valley Railway AssociationSVRS:Severn Valley Railway Society, where trains in the No. 1 Siding at Bewdley must divide to keep the barrow crossing clear, but that benefits quite a few more people than the signalman! --Danny252 (talk) 09:09, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
I've posed this question to the experts at Signalbox.org: link. --Danny252 (talk) 20:02, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
