Built in 1925 as part of Lot 932, 68501 was one of 378 20 ton non-vacuum braked 16' wheelbase Brake Vans built to Diagram AA15.
It was purchased from BR Radstock in 1975 by [[The GWR 813 Preservation Fund]]. Following major structural rebuilding, it has regularly featured in demonstration freight trains on gala weekends. It also appeared on the main line during the GW 150 celebrations.
