Riddles. The Class 4 tank engine was derived from the ex-LMS Fairburn 2-6-4T, and was used mainly on commuter and outer suburban services. 80079, seen on display in the Engine House, is one of around 13 survivors of the type of which four are only two locomotives preserved on the SVR. The FRUIT D is a GWR design dating from 1939, although only 50 were built by which worked on the GWR with most examples including W3429 being completed by BR who continued their construction as late as 1958Severn Valley branch in commercial service.
