2119 was purchased direct from passenger service, arriving on the SVR from Didcot on 28 August 1968 and receiving full GWR livery in 1979.<ref>Severn Valley Railway Stock Book Ninth Edition</ref> It was also used as part of the SVR's [[The Severn Valley Railway on the main line#SVR Carriages used on the main line | GWR main line set]], for which it was allocated TOPS number 99239,<ref>Railway Heritage Register Carriage Survey</ref> as well as on the SVR itself.
In October 2017, 2119 was moved outside the joinery shop at [[Bewdley Down Yard]] for a long overdue overhaul to begin, the vehicle having been in store for about thirty years.<ref>[https://forum.svr-online.org.uk/viewtopic.php?t=3461&start=45 SVROnline forum]</ref><ref>SVR News 200, Winter 2017</ref> Priority is being given to the major repair of [[GWR 9615 Kitchen Diner First]]; the next task on 2119 was the planned removal of the floor during 2019.<ref>GW(SVR)A Newsletter, Summer 2019</ref> It is owned by the [[Great Western (SVR) Assoc. | The Great Western (SVR) Association]].
