9220 arrived on the SVR in February 1973 from Leicester, where it had been where it was in use as a guards training vehicle.<ref>SVR Stock Book 9th edition</ref><ref name = SVRT>SVR Charitable Trust</ref> It received a full overhaul at Bridgnorth after arrival, and is now in Crimson and Cream livery.
9220 is seen below photographed at Bewdley in April 2015. It has been owned by the [[Severn Valley Railway Charitable Trust Ltd | SVR Charitable Trust]] since 2007.<ref name = SVRT/><gallery>BR_9220_20150411.jpg|9220 in April 2015</gallery>
