The SVR stock book states that 2119 was purchased direct from passenger service. However the Railway Heritage Register Carriage Survey states that it was later numbered 99239, suggesting a period of hauled non-passenger carrying use. It arrived on the SVR from Didcot in August 1968, and received full GWR livery in 1979. It was also used as part of the SVR's [[The Severn Valley Railway on the main line#SVR Carriages used on the main line | GWR main line set]] as well as on the SVR itself.
In October 2017, 2119 was moved outside the joinery shop at [[Bewdley]] for a long overdue overhaul to begin, the vehicle having been in store for about thirty years.<ref>[http://forum.svra.org.uk/viewtopic.php?t=3461&start=45 SVROnline forum]</ref><ref>SVR News 200, Winter 2017</ref> It is owned by [[Great Western (SVR) Assoc. | The Great Western (SVR) Association]].
