43106 was one of the SVR’s early locomotives, arriving ‘light engine’ direct from Lostock Hall in on 2 August 1968. <ref>SVR Stock Book Ninth Edition</ref> It worked services on the official opening day in May 1970, and in [[Severn Valley Railway Timeline 1970-1979#1975 | 1975]] took part in the Rail 150 celebrations at Shildon, travelling there in steam behind [[LMS Stanier 8F 48773 | 8233]]. 43106 also attended the 1980 Rocket 150 celebrations at Rainhill, and a number of other solo and double-headed appearances during the early 1980s followed.
