On September 8 in SVR history.
- 1963 The last BR passenger train to leave Bridgnorth for the south, normally a diesel railcar service, was hauled by GWR pannier tanks 4665 and 9624[1].
- 1974 Newly repainted Jinty 47383 fully entered service following completion of restoration.[2]
- 1975 GWR 94059 China Clay Open Wagon arrived on the SVR from the Port of Bristol Authority
- 1979: Saturday of the Enthusiasts Weekend.
- 1984 Didcot's 5051 'Drysllwyn Castle' arrived for a visit including the Autumn Steam Gala.[3]
- 2016 60163 'Tornado' brought Vintage Trains' 'Severn Valley Venturer' from London Victoria to Bridgnorth.
- 2022: Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II died. The SVR announced that it would continue to operate services but with all locomotives carrying wreaths.
- 2023: On 8 and 9 September respectively, 7714 operated as long-scrapped classmates 9624 and 4665 with a 'last train' headboard, to mark the 60th anniversary of the last BR passenger service to leave Bridgnorth.
