On October 9 in SVR history.
- 1890 The GWR authorised the provision of a footbridge at Stourport at a cost of £600.[1]
- 1895 The new siding connection at Highley was approved for use by the Board of Trade Inspector.[2]
- 1915 The GWR agreed with the Highley Mining Company that minerals would not be extracted in the vicinity of Highley Station and Borle Viaduct to prevent damage to the railway.[3]
- 1963 Future resident 5164 was sold to Barry Scrapyard by BR.[4]
- 2003 BR Class 08 D3586 hauled a revenue-earning freight service, delivering new roof trusses to Orchard Farm, Northwood. They were too large to travel by road[5].
- 2020: The SVR was awarded a £906,000 grant from the Culture Recovery Fund for Heritage.
- 2022: In the early hours of Sunday 9 October, the Western steps of the new Kidderminster Footbridge were installed and the East set placed ready for installation. Problems with the paperwork meant the main span was not delivered as planned so could not be installed until the following weekend.
