On July 1 in SVR history.
- 1860 The West Midland Railway was formed, becoming leaseholders of the Severn Valley Railway.[1]
- 1872 The Severn Valley Railway was amalgamated in to the Great Western Railway.
- 1896 The Shropshire and West Midlands Agricultural Show was held at Bridgnorth. A siding was created for the event.
- 2007 All SVR carriages became non-smoking following the introduction of national legislation[2].
- 2021: GWR 6960 Raveningham Hall, which had been on extended hire to the SVR since May 2019, worked its final services before the locomotive's boiler certification expired.
- 2023: Saturday of the second Step Back to the 1940s weekend.
