- 1967: The SVR's first steam locomotive, GWR 0-6-0 No 3205, was hauled from Buckfastleigh in Devon to the BR shed at Stourbridge Junction by BR 'Warship' D855 Triumph in preparation for a move to the SVR a few days later.[1]
- 1984 The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady was first broadcast by Central Independent Television. It was partly filmed on the SVR using 686 The Lady Armaghdale hauling Longmoor Saloons 7803, 7813 and 45021 at Arley and between there and Highley in late 1983.[2]
- 2013 BR Class 09 D4100 arrived on the SVR, having been purchased from former owner Harry Needle.
