The Warwickshire Railway Society was particularly active in the 1960s. During that decade it organised a number of rail tours, such as "The Hants & Dorset Rail Tour" on 5 September 1965.[1]. The Society also published the book "Industrial Steam Locomotives of Central England" by RC Evans in 1969.

In 1969, members of the Society and members of the Severn Valley Railway Company jointly formed the 15XX Pannier Tank Fund to purchase and preserve GWR Pannier 1501.[2] 1501 was first steamed on 29 May 1997 "backed by the financial efforts of the Warwickshire Railway Society".[3]

In 2013 a query on the National Preservation Forum regarding the status of the Society did not elicit any responses. As of 2018 the Society has no obvious presence on social media.
