During the 1880s, timetables on the Severn Valley Branch continued with four through trains in each direction on weekdays and one on Sundays. There was no improvement in journey times, which varied between 1h 45min and 2h 14m.<ref>[[Bibliography#Books|Marshall (1989)]] pp. 140-11.</ref>

On the Tenbury Branch, by 1887 the timetable had reverted to four through trains in each direction on weekdays between Kidderminster and Woofferton, still with no Sunday service. The 24¼ mile journey took around 1h 10min with a single fare costing 4s for single class and 8s 6d, expensive for that time. A fifth service from Kidderminster to Woofferton was re-introduced in December 1896, initially on Tuesdays but soon becoming a daily service.<ref name=Marshall142>[[Bibliography#Books|Marshall (1989)]] pp. 142-143.</ref>
