I have stumbled across this list from Lightmoor publishing, which is a digest of private owners' wagons illustrated in books published since 1969. It includes locations, against which one might back engineer searches for additional private sidings. For example, a search for Stourport brings up an entry for J.W. Powell and references for Montague and Turton books which, presumably, have more information, there's no reference in the Wiki to Powell. I don't however have a library or any of these books, but if you have and would like to it might be an interesting rabbit hole to go down!--Patrick Hearn (talk) 12:54, 30 September 2023 (UTC)
:A useful list, thanks. I suspect there aren't many major private sidings that we've missed, given we've done quite a lot of looking at the detailed OS maps in areas likely to have had them, plus John Marshall's pretty comprehensive list in his 'along the railway' chapter. Possibly some of the sidings may have been shared (so the Wilden sand siding may have supplied sand to more than one business for example). I probably won't set out to buy any of the books specifically, but I'll keep an eye out for them if I'm in KRM or the other second hand shops. Having read your note, I decided to change the page to an article style rather than a simple list. Edits and corrections welcome as always. --Robin (talk) 14:26, 2 October 2023 (UTC)
