solebar damage - possible source(s)
I recall reading an account of the move of the two Caledonian wagons (so around 2016). One had been previously damaged with a split timber solebar during a heavy shunt: it needed to be strapped before movement. I can't find it though to update these pages - SVR News perhaps? :I can't see anything in SVR News or Express Points. There is a comment by Sam Lench in this [https://forum.svr-online.org.uk/viewtopic.php?t=3582&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight= SVR-Online forum thread], referring to the plan to move 4543 from HL to KR, "''I think I have been told it is going by rail to Kidderminster - dead slow and strapped up to secure the cracked sole bar''". It doesn't mention if that was how the damage originally occurred or say if that was how the move actually happened, but both seem likely. There is also a reference in the thread to postings in the Unofficial Severn Valley Railway Facebook group around that time.
