Survivors was a BBC Sci-Fi drama series created by Terry Nation (better known as creator of the Daleks). It ran between 1975 and 1977, and was set in a post-apocalyptic world where most of the population of the planet has been killed by an accidentally released plague.<ref name="Wiki">[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Survivors_(1975_TV_series) Wikipedia]</ref>.

Some confusion existsThe Severn Valley Railway was used as a filming location in at least three episodes of Season 3, including “Mad Dog” which is the subject of a dedicated web site. A detailed account of the filming of this episode by site editor Rich Cross notes that "''For many aficionados of the programme, Mad Dog is not only one of the standout episodes of Survivors’ third year but of the entire series''".

Series 3 Episode 4 'Mad Dogs' was first broadcast on 6 April 1977 and featured the SVR. SVR News refers to filming at [[Highley]] station and [[Highley signal box |signal box]].<ref>SVR News 44</ref>.
