In spring 1987 the "Steam Snacks" [[:Category:SVR fundraising lotteries|SVRA raffle]] raised £1,256 for the Fund<ref>SVR News 83</ref>.
The Fund's was unable to mark its Golden Jubilee in 2020 with the usual 'special train' due to the [[2020 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic]]. The Fund finally celebrated by organising an 'SMF 50 Golden Jubilee' charter train on Saturday 30 October 2021. The train comprised a set of six GWR coaches hauled by Ivatt Mogul 43106, the Fund's own mogul still being in course of overhaul.<ref>[https://www.svrlive.com/blnov21 Branch Lines November 2021]</ref>.
