The canal was the used for transporting coal to [[Stourport Power Station]] before the branch from [[Stourport|Stourport Station]] was built in 1940.<br>
The canal and the River Stour can be seen from the train as they pass under [[Falling Sands Viaduct]] in [[Kidderminster]]
