Somerset & Dorset Loco Company
The Somerset & Dorset Locomotive Company Limited was incorporated in May 2000, with the principal activity being the purchase, restoration and hire of locomotives.[1]
The Company owns and operated two BRBritish Rail or British Railways Class 20 locomotives formerly based at the SVRSevern Valley Railway, D8059 and D8188. A third Class 20, 20177 was resident on the SVRSevern Valley Railway for the purpose of providing spare parts.
In June 2017 the Company's locomotives were described as "operational, although no longer used by the SVRSevern Valley Railway" and in September 2017 the Chinnor and Princes Risborough Railway announced D8059 and D8188 had joined their fleet.[2]. The remains of 20177 left the SVRSevern Valley Railway in October 2017.
