It was one of 2,260 ten ton wooden-bodied covered goods vans built to Diagram V16. Built in Swindon in April 19131883 and has not changed significantly since, it was sent overseas as part of the war effort in May 1917, returning apart from modifications to the GWR in November 1920. Preserved in 1972, it appeared on the main line in 1985 as part interlocking of the lever frame.
