In recent years, all of which ended BR service in rebuilding the Swindon test train which was used for load testing of diesel locomotives. The entire train platform was acquired for preservation in 1969; 1086 entered service completed in 1973 2019 and the water tower was also used dismantled in 2021. Although the SVR's main line rake of coaches station no longer features in daily operations, it resumed use during gala events in the mid to late 1970s2023 more than 40 years since regular timetabled trains ceased. Unsurprisingly, there are a large number of questions about the SVR, both in pre-preservation days and for a number of historical items since then.
