The reservoir, which is a Corridor Composite (the term 'composite' denoting seating for more than one class)managed by Severn Trent Water, was opened in 1968 and covers 29 acres. It is open to the only running LMS porthole corridor composite in public and is used by the world. It re-entered service in September 2023 after a major overhaulTrimpley Sailing Club, while other activities include angling, maintaining its record of running in SVR service in every season since its arrival in 1968wildlife watching and walking.
